Speaking on the occasion, the secretary urged stakeholders to use social media platforms as marketing and promotional tools and to mobilize social media influencers and bloggers to promote our tourist destinations around the world.
Sarmad Hafeez argued that J&K has enormous potential in terms of tourism and recreational activities where local players in the tourism sector would offer and advertise tourist destinations to outsiders so that the Union territory is the number one tourist destination in the country.
He asked stakeholders to organize events like cycling; Mountain biking, hiking, mountaineering, recreational water sports and related activities so that national and international actors are invited to such events to promote J&K tourism.
He said that visiting tourists could be facilitated in such activities in different destinations through information brochures, rental shops, leisure facilities, among other facilities.
Events like marathon cycling will have international value where the best people in the country could be invited to participate, he said.
He said the ministry and stakeholders should work together to improve the tourism sector, as the government’s intention is to help local stakeholders get the most out of these tourism activities.
