The Forum aims to provide pragmatic solutions to the global challenges facing the sector, with the aim of promoting tourism and supporting its sustainable growth.

The Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum was launched as a rebranding of the Authority’s flagship annual Sharjah Hospitality Forum, which explores global developments in the industry that call for new and sustainable methods to ensure that the tourism sector remains resilient.

“The tourism sector plays a vital role in economies around the world and contributes essential to global and sustainable growth,” said His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority. “With the guidance and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Sovereign of Sharjah, the tourism sector has made tremendous progress over the past decade.

“This called for the launch of a dedicated platform for local and international experts and stakeholders to come together, engage in productive discussions and ensure the continued progress of the tourism sector – and this is where Sharjah International Travel and Tourism Forum 2021 enters, ”he added.

“The Forum is an instrument for us to highlight effective strategies and solutions for the sustainable growth of the travel and tourism sector, as well as to analyze international successes and best practices in smart tourism”, explained SE Al Midfa. “The event will explore inspiring models presented by experts and stakeholders in the tourism industry from Sharjah and around the world. We are convinced that the forum will discover constructive recommendations to shape the future tourism landscape of the emirate. “

SITTF 2021 brings together government officials, policy makers and experts from the global tourism industry and from various destinations. Delegates to the full-day event will participate in high-profile sessions with experts in economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, and hospitality, in addition to popular travel bloggers.

The sessions also focus on ways to promote entrepreneurial opportunities and improve their impact on the development of modern destinations, opening up new perspectives for the tourism sector and designing successful training programs.

In addition, the Forum discusses the impact of smart tourism on the economy, looking at real models from various countries. Sessions will also explore the essential leadership skills required to ensure continued success, overcome various challenges, understand markets and trends, assess risks and ensure appropriate decision-making. In addition, the Forum will explore the skills needed to lead the tourism industry to develop advanced innovation-driven services that enhance the customer experience.

Also on the agenda is a session exploring “The Power and Influence of Bloggers in Destination Development,” which highlights the growing role that travel blogging has played in marketing travel destinations in recent years. These bloggers provide the public with stories based on first-hand personal experiences and offer travelers the opportunity to explore a given destination before making reservations. Popular influencers will join experts at the Forum to discuss the pros and cons of this trend.
