The city of Yixing in neighboring Jiangsu Province has stepped up its integration into the Yangtze River Delta region with six projects related to its Yangxian ecotourism complex signed and 16 projects under construction unveiled in Shanghai.

Projects inked on Friday include digital culture and tourism and minsu (the Chinese version of the B&B), upgrading the Tang Tribute Tea Culture Village with a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($ 230 million), a leisure resort worth 230 million yuan, cooperation with Shanghai Spring Tour and intelligent culture and tourism data mining service.

The nationwide tourist resort includes an array of attractions such as the Yixing Bamboo Sea Scenic Area and Shanjuan Cave.

Last year, the resort recorded more than 4.2 million tourist visits, generating tourism revenue of 1.85 billion yuan.

The goal is 10 million visits and tourism revenue of 4 billion yuan per year by the end of 2025.

Thirty tourism projects will be introduced through 2025 to make the resort a premier tourist destination in China, the preferred garden for tourists in Shanghai and a central garden for tourists in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Zhou Bin, vice mayor of Yixing City, said the resort’s development would be accelerated to fuel the development of better “all-for-one” tourism (referring to the integration of tourism resources for the overall development of the industry) of Yixing. He invited Shanghai’s investments in the city.
